To enrich campus life and diversify ways of learning English, the English Drama Dubbing Club hosted an English Corner on the afternoon of March 26, themed “Catch the Frisbee, Catch the English.” Using frisbee games as the main activity, the event combined language learning with outdoor sports, guiding students to communicate and express themselves in English naturally within a relaxed and open environment.
为丰富校园文化生活，拓展英语学习形式，3月26日午后，英语戏剧配音社开展了以“Catch the Frisbee, Catch the English”为主题的英语角活动。本次活动以飞盘运动为载体，将语言学习与户外运动相结合，在轻松开放的环境中，引导同学们在真实情境中进行英语交流与表达。
The event took place on the West Campus Playground under the bright spring sunshine, creating a relaxed and open atmosphere for interaction. English was no longer confined to classrooms or textbooks, but was used naturally through hands-on activities and meaningful exchanges.
活动在西区操场进行，春日阳光明媚，为交流营造了轻松而开放的氛围。英语不再局限于课堂与文本，而是在互动与体验中得到自然运用。

Using English naturally in real situations
在具体情境中推动语言表达的自然发生
At the beginning of the event, Lindsey led the students in a warm-up to gradually energize the atmosphere. She then demonstrated and explained the basic techniques of throwing and catching a frisbee, including hand positioning, direction control, and catching skills. Afterward, students paired up to practice tossing and catching, gradually getting familiar with the rhythm of the movements while coordinating through simple English communication.
活动伊始，Lindsey带领同学们进行热身，逐步调动现场氛围。在此基础上，她结合示范讲解了飞盘的基本投掷与接盘方法，包括出手方式、方向控制及接盘技巧等。随后，同学们两人一组进行抛接练习，在不断尝试中熟悉动作节奏，并通过简单的英语交流进行配合。
Once the basics were mastered, the activity progressed to practicing catches while running, allowing students to make quick decisions and interact in a dynamic setting. Finally, students formed groups freely to continue practicing in a more open and fun environment. Throughout this process, language gradually became part of the action itself, shifting from “deliberate expression” to “natural use.”
在掌握基础之后，活动进一步加入跑动中的接盘练习，使同学们在动态过程中完成判断与互动。最后，同学们自由分组开展实践，在更加开放的情境中进行交流与练习。语言在这一过程中逐渐融入行动本身，从“刻意表达”转向“自然使用”。

Frisbee is widely popular on many campuses. Beyond being a fun sport, it also reflects cultural values such as teamwork and respect for rules.
飞盘运动在大学校园中具有较高的普及度，其背后不仅体现了运动本身的趣味性，也反映出协作与规则意识等文化特点。
During the activity, Lindsey introduced the origins of frisbee, its basic rules, and its development on campuses, while engaging students in hands-on practice and discussion. In this way, students gained a more direct understanding of the cultural context while participating in the activity. Language learning went beyond vocabulary and sentence structures, combining with cultural awareness in an authentic situation, making communication more meaningful and contextually relevant.
在活动过程中，Lindsey围绕飞盘的起源、基本规则及其在大学中的发展情况进行了介绍，并结合实际体验与同学们展开交流。通过这种方式，同学们在参与活动的同时，对相关文化背景形成了更为直观的理解。语言学习由此不再局限于词汇和句式层面，而是在具体情境中与文化认知相结合，使表达更具真实感与针对性。

Boosting confidence in a relaxed, fun environment

Compared with the classroom setting, the outdoor environment provided a more open space for interaction. As students engaged in movement and activities, they gradually relaxed, felt less hesitant about using English, and became more willing to participate.
相较于课堂环境，户外场景为交流提供了更加开放的空间。同学们在运动与互动中逐渐放松，对语言表达的顾虑有所降低，更愿意主动参与交流。
Through continuous interaction, their communication evolved from simple responses to more complete expressions. With repeated practice and feedback, students naturally improved the fluency of their language use while enhancing their sense of involvement and overall interactive experience.
在持续的互动过程中，表达由最初的简单回应逐步过渡到更完整的表达形式。通过不断尝试与反馈，同学们在潜移默化中提升了语言运用的流畅度，也增强了参与感与互动体验。

From warm-up exercises to basic practice, and then to collaborative activities and independent practice, this event gradually achieved an organic integration of language learning and hands-on experience. Frisbee served as a medium, perfectly creating opportunities for interaction and bringing language use to life in authentic communication.
从热身引导到基础练习，再到动态情境中的协作与自主实践，本次活动在循序渐进的过程中，实现了语言学习与实际体验的有机结合。飞盘作为一种媒介，为交流提供了契机，也使语言表达在真实互动中得以激活。
