
In this session, tacos were explored as more than just a popular dish. David introduced their origins in Mexico and explained how they evolved within Californian society, gradually becoming a representative example of cultural fusion.
在本环节中,塔可被赋予了超越食物本身的文化意义。David从其在墨西哥的起源讲起,介绍了塔可如何在美国加州的发展过程中不断被本土化与再创造,最终形成具有鲜明地域特色的融合型饮食文化。



By tracing this development, students were able to see how food reflects patterns of migration, adaptation, and identity. Discussions around ingredients, preparation styles, and naming practices revealed how cultural meanings are embedded in everyday expressions.
通过对食材选择、制作方式及命名习惯的讲解,同学们逐渐认识到,食物不仅承载着生活方式,也反映着文化认同与历史变迁。塔可在传播过程中的变化,正是文化交流与融合的具体体现。

This perspective encouraged students to view language through a broader cultural lens. Rather than focusing on isolated elements, they began to understand how communication is shaped by shared knowledge, cultural background, and social context.
这一视角帮助同学们从更宏观的层面理解语言与文化之间的关系,意识到日常表达背后所蕴含的文化意义,从而拓展了对语言的认知维度。


Throughout the whole session, language emerged naturally through interaction and shared activities. As David introduced the background of tacos and guided the preparation process, students engaged in listening, responding, and exchanging ideas in a contextualized environment.
在活动过程中,语言贯穿于讲解与互动之中。随着塔可文化背景的介绍以及制作流程的展开,同学们通过倾听、提问与回应,自然参与到交流之中。



Communication was closely tied to the ongoing activity. Students asked questions, followed instructions, and shared their preferences and impressions. These exchanges were grounded in real situations, making language use purposeful and immediate.
活动互动围绕制作过程与个人体验展开,为同学们的英语搭建了更真实的情境。同学们在真实语境中表达想法、回应他人,并在互动中不断调整表达方式,从而提升沟通的自然度与连贯性。




Such an approach really highlights the importance of context in communication. Meaning is not only conveyed through words, but also through interaction, intention, and cultural understanding. By participating in these exchanges, students experienced how language functions as a tool for connection rather than a set of abstract rules.
这种以情境和互动为基础的交流方式,使语言不再是抽象的知识,而成为连接人与人之间理解与合作的重要工具,也进一步体现了语言学习与文化理解之间的内在联系。


The live taco-making session formed the core of the event. Under the guidance of David, all the students took part in the Taco preparation process, from selecting their ingredients to assembling their own tacos.
现场制作塔可是本次活动的核心环节。在David的引导下,同学们亲身参与到制作过程中,从准备食材到完成组合,每一步都伴随着交流与协作。


This hands-on experience created a real dynamic and interactive environment. As all the students worked together, communication arose naturally—whether in asking for help, confirming steps, or sharing results. English became an active medium for collaboration and expression.
在这一过程中,语言随着行动自然发生。同学们在合作中进行沟通,在分享中表达感受,使交流更加真实而富有意义。通过参与具体实践,语言学习从静态转向动态,从接受转向建构。

Moreover, the atmosphere encouraged these students to participate more freely. This activity reinforced learning through experience, allowing students to build confidence and develop a more intuitive sense of language use.
同时,轻松开放的氛围也有效促进了参与度的提升。同学们在互动中更加主动表达,在不断尝试中积累经验,从而逐步增强交流的信心与能力。
